Semia Uppuma
Ingredients:
- Roasted Semiya (available in packets) 1 cup
- water 2 cups
- Onion big 1 - thinly sliced
- Tomato 2 - diced
- Green chillies - cut into vertical pieces
- Carrot 1 - small slivers
- Frozen or Fresh green peas 1/2 cup
Preparation:
- In a pan fry the semia using a spoon of ghee or cooking oil.
- Add 2 cups of water and let it boil for 10 minutes.
- Using a strainer drain the water and keep aside.
- Fry the onions and the vegetables till the vegetables are cooked.
- Add salt and green chillies.
- Add the cooked semia and mix thoroughly.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Method 2 ( easy method)
- Using a teaspoon of oil fry the onion and the vegetables.
- Add 2 cups of water, salt and vermicelli (1 cup) direct from the packet.
- Keep stirring to prevent it to sticking to the pan.
- It should be cooked in 10 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Serve hot with sauce, or spicy chutneys.
